I'm dieting and want to burn fat but my weight loss has plateaued at 76%. It's been suggested that I start focusing on building muscle because while this will not help lose weight at first it will make my body look better and burn more calories over time. However, building muscle requires a calorie surplus something I've been painfully avoiding for almost a year now. I'm stuck not knowing what to do. Is there a way to do both. Should I rotate between the two weekly/monthly. Any suggestions are welcome. My current exercise routine has 30-50 minutes or cardio 4 times a week with a few sets of push ups sporadically through the week. I strictly diet throughout the week and on the weekends I relax a little more but never binge.
