Asked: Is obesity down to genetics?
I believe that genetics do have a part to play, some people have fast metabolisms and some have slower metabolisms. I'm talking about super morbidly obese people who consume like over 10,000 calories a day! How is it even physically possible to eat so many calories?
I've struggled with my weight in the past and I'd binge, but I don't think I've ever gone over 6,500 calories! I'd feel so sick and full I would have stomach pains and severe discomfort. At my largest I weighed 200 pounds (I am 5"7, 21 year old female). Now I weigh around 160-165 pounds and am a UK size 10/12 (I do a lot of exercise), but I'd like to drop 25 more pounds. However I could never let myself get morbidly obese, firstly because I don't think I could eat that much in the first place and secondly I wouldn't let myself because I have enough self-discipline not to. Physically I know when I am full but I only binged because it was for emotional reasons not because I was actually hungry.
But there are some people who are obese as babies and are never full and they grow up becoming super morbidly obese. I believe that anyone can be slim if they're disciplined enough to loose weight, but for some people is it just impossible because they're never full? I know some people have Prada Willis syndrome, but what about the super morbidly obese people. How can they eat so much and are they lazy? The world's fattest teenager in the UK is like 19 and she weighs 63 stone (around over 880 pounds!). How is it even possible to get to the weight especially at such a young age??
Asked: why can’t i get past UK size 14?!?
Ok, I have been trying to get healthier and have gone from being 5ft6 and 17 stone, to 12 stone. I have done it slowly, with exercise and proper meals and it has taken two years to get this far.
I currently each all my lean proteins, vegetables, fruit, carbs and fat because I know its important for health.
I am just frustrated because I have worked so hard and I can't get past the UK size 14 mark. I know I have an hourglass figure because i have broad shoulders and hips and a small waist (think Kim Kardashian but nowhere near as stunning).
What can I do to get past size 14? I only want to be a 12, I will feel confident and healthy then.
I have asked for advice in the past and becasue i'm an 18 year old girl some people have assumed that I am trying to conformmyself to societies views. I AM NOT TRYING TO DO THIS!!!! I just want to be fit and healthy as well as boosting my self confidence. At no point have a starved myself and I am not a poor rolemodel for younger children becasue I believe that we should all be healthy.
